BLOG: Heading off to Jordan

Updated: Mar 6, 2023

March is going to be a really busy month for us here at GEST and I am excited about heading off to the historic and fascinating land of Jordan in the middle of the month.

Not only is it a place I have never been to before, but it will be the first time that we have sponsored an event.

We will be at the American Community School in Amman for a two-day event that I am really looking forward to.

I will be presenting a session called: “Simplifying and securing payments across your school”.

School fees and payments

We understand the collection of schools fees and payments across the school are a common problem. With manual collection and reconciliation being cumbersome, often processes lack from an industry perspective in terms of simplicity, efficiency and perhaps most importantly – security.

Having built Global School Payments (GSP) and alongside our partners My Campus Card, it is a topic we can speak confidently and passionately about, whilst hopefully introducing better systems and processes to the PowerSchool users in the region.

The beautiful wonders of Jordan

Away from the event, I am hoping to have time to meet with the hosts and other EdTech guests, such as Marcia Brenner Associates who will be at the event – as we look to further develop our network with American Schools around the world.

I’ll also be keen to see some of the incredible landscape in Jordan and experience a new culture and a new country too.

BETT London

Sadly, it will be a flying visit, because soon after that, we are closer to home in London for the three-day BETT event at the ExCeL in London.

The event is always a packed with brilliant EdTech and educators from around the world and highlights the standing that the UK education sector still holds across the world. The event creates an environment in which it is easy to learn and discover new products, whilst meeting old friends and I’m sure plenty of new contacts.

Representatives from Government and educational institutions join in to make BETT a really valuable event for anyone in the EdTech sector and the industries that support it.

In a busy month, I will also be presenting GSP to the Furlong user group in an online presentation. Furlong are school data experts and their school management information system is extremely popular so I am looking forward to trying to help and provide timely solutions for the users of that technology.

It’s going to be a busy March!
